Well, snow me over

Happy World Toilet Day! Yes, friends, November 19th was World Toilet Day. I don't know about you, but I spent many happy minutes today spending time with my toilet, getting to know it better, caressing its shiny surface, and....

Alert! Alert!

We interrupt this informative ramble to provide you with an important Pacific Northwest weather update. To put it in meteorological terms, the weather here in the Northwest is whacked. Our high today in my area of Oregon was 58 degrees (F), and we also had a couple inches of snow in my neighborhood by noon. Some towns had 10" by the end of the day.

The high occurred just after midnight, and then things went all screwy (another meteorological term). Many areas started the morning with flooding, and by noon, the cold white stuff covered the ground, and it didn't let up for hours. It hadn't snowed here in November in nine years. It took the weather forecasters on TV completely by surprise. It was almost 60 degrees yesterday, after all. Who would have thunk (another technical term) it would be a winter wonderland the next day?

So, what with the snow falling and all, I did the required thing and took pictures. Now you, dear readers, get to do the required thing and look at them. Click away...

The Great Oregon Snowfall of November 19th, 2003

Wow. Most of it is gone now, but we might have more tomorrow. Or, with the way things have been going, it very well could be sunny and 80 degrees. For all I know...

Alert! Alert!

We now interrupt this important weather update to bring you a cute Tango the Wonder Kitty photo, which is at right. Click on it to see the complete cute-filled version.

Tango, in his infinite wisdom, decided to fill the void left by my mother's defunct laptop keyboard, and lay in the well where it once resided. He seemed quite pleased with himself. Of course, he always seems quite pleased with himself. My mother did try to type on Tango, but it didn't really work. Maybe next time I should try to plug his tail into the place where the keyboard hooks in.

In other news, people continue to use interesting keywords in the various search engines to find this blog. A few from recent days:

I'm also getting more visits via "jerry springer diapers" searches. I'm trying not to think about why people are doing such searches. It makes my head hurt. But we here at the Random Ramblings blog welcomes everyone... diapers and all.
